Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers across various routes, ensuring timely delivery of freight, and maintaining excellent customer service. Your expertise in handling different types of trailers—including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump truck, roll-off truck, and freight loads—will be essential to our success. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring cargo integrity and proper securing.
- Drive a variety of trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks to deliver goods efficiently.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load securement.
- Plan optimal routes for timely deliveries while managing route driving schedules and adjusting for traffic or weather conditions.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in compliance with federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries while providing excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating manual transmission trucks is preferred.
- TWIC card
- Proven truck driving experience with a focus on freight delivery—experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is a plus.
- Ability to load & unload cargo safely using forklift or manual methods; familiarity with freight handling procedures.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards related to commercial trucking operations.
- Strong route planning skills with the ability to adapt to changing schedules or road conditions.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and customers.
- Physical ability to perform load securement tasks and conduct vehicle inspections regularly.
