Workforce Wellness Specialist
Position Summary
The Workforce Wellness Specialist is responsible for improving employee morale, strengthening workforce engagement, and reducing turnover across field operations within our field crews for drilling and lateral piping activities throughout the continental United States. This role serves as a key connection point between field employees, operations leadership, and Human Resources by promoting a positive work environment, supporting employee wellbeing, and helping crews navigate the personal and professional challenges associated with the demands for a mobile working.
The Workforce Wellness Specialist will develop and coordinate programs and activities that improve employee experience, support retention efforts, and reinforce the company’s commitment to safety, teamwork, and employee care.
This position reports directly to the HR Manger and works closely with field supervisors, operations managers, and our leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement workforce engagement and employee wellness initiatives focused on improving morale and retention among field employees.
- Coordinate crew activities including jobsite lunches, team dinners, recognition events, and morale-building programs.
- Organize support activities for crews working away from home, including lodging coordination assistance, local activities, and wellness outreach.
- Assist employees with questions related to company benefits, healthcare access, and available employee support resources.
- Help employees coordinate doctor appointments, counseling resources, and wellness-related services when needed.
- Provide employee support and guidance for personal or workplace concerns while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Plan and facilitate team-building events, weekend excursions, and employee appreciation activities.
- Partner with safety and operations leadership to coordinate and support jobsite safety talks and workforce communication initiatives.
- Build positive working relationships with field personnel and maintain regular presence at active job locations.
- Identify trends impacting morale, engagement, and turnover and provide recommendations to leadership for continuous improvement.
- Support onboarding, orientation and integration efforts for new employees entering field operations.
- Promote company culture, teamwork, employee recognition, and workforce accountability across all levels of the organization.
- Travel to field locations across the lower 48 states as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Leadership, Psychology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in employee relations, workforce engagement, operations support, HR, or related people-focused leadership roles.
- Experience supporting field-based, industrial, construction, oilfield, drilling, or remote workforce environments strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees from diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in sensitive situations.
- Strong organizational and event coordination skills.
- Ability to travel frequently to field locations and job sites.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard business communication tools.

- A key responsibility of this job is organizing and hosting crew dinners, jobsite lunches, and evening appreciation events for groups of 10 to 20 construction workers. Are you comfortable leading, hosting, and managing these social dinner dynamics independently?
- While hosting crew social events (like dinners or excursions), you will be the sole company and HR representative present. This requires balancing a warm, approachable social presence with strong professional boundaries and company policy enforcement. Are you comfortable navigating this balance?
- Part of this role involves building trust with field crews. Are you confident in your ability to communicate effectively, build authentic rapport, and hold your own with a construction-based workforce?
