Ricaurte Precision (RPI) is expanding rapidly as we continue to win new aerospace, defense, and medical manufacturing programs. We are looking for an experienced Lead CNC Lathe Setup Machinist who can independently set up, prove out, and run complex precision parts while helping drive performance throughout our Lathe Department.
This is not a production operator position.
We are looking for a machinist who takes ownership of setups, solves problems independently, mentors others, and thrives in a fast paced precision manufacturing environment.
You'll work with advanced multi axis CNC lathes, live tooling machines, Swiss machines, and modern digital manufacturing systems producing mission critical components for world class customers.
Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Lead CNC Lathe Setup Machinist to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the setup and operation of multi-axis and Swiss-style CNC lathes for complex aerospace components. Your expertise will ensure precise machine setups, optimal tooling configurations, and high-quality production runs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining technology in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence in manufacturing.
What You'll Do
- Set up and prove out CNC lathes and Swiss machines
- Install tooling, jaws, fixtures, and workholding
- Set offsets and make machine level program adjustments
- Read blueprints, GD&T, setup sheets, and work instructions
- Perform first article and in process inspections
- Hold tight tolerance aerospace and defense requirements
- Troubleshoot tooling, machine, and process issues
- Partner with Programming, Quality, and Production teams
- Mentor operators and less experienced machinists
- Drive setup reduction, process improvement, and machine utilization
- Record production and quality data using Fulcrum ERP and 1Factory
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of CNC Lathe Setup experience
- Experience with multi axis lathes and live tooling
- Swiss machining experience highly preferred
- Strong blueprint and GD&T interpretation skills
- Ability to independently complete first article setups
- Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision inspection tools
- Experience editing programs and optimizing processes at the machine
- Aerospace, defense, or medical machining experience preferred
- Leadership mindset with the ability to teach, motivate, and lead by example

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
