Water, Fire, Smoke, and Mold Technician (Mitigation Tech/Crew Lead)
Location: Greenville, SC | Type: Full-time | Pay: $17.00 - $25.00/hour
RestoPros of the Upstate is seeking a dedicated, hands-on Mitigation Tech/Crew Lead with strong demolition and construction experience to join our growing team. In this physically active role, you will be the first line of response to homes and businesses affected by water, fire, smoke, and mold damage. We’re looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in being part of the recovery process for families and property owners in crisis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Emergency response to calls for water, fire, smoke, and mold damage.
- Conduct controlled demolition and removal of affected materials (drywall, flooring, cabinetry, etc.) using provided equipment.
- Perform extraction, drying, and dehumidification using professional mitigation equipment.
- Safely identify and remove mold in residential and commercial settings.
- Clean and restore spaces damaged by fire and smoke, including soot and odor removal.
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members; keep clients informed of progress.
- Maintain detailed documentation, including photos and notes, using RestoPros’ digital systems.
- Follow all safety protocols, IICRC standards, and company procedures.
- Work in tight or hazardous areas such as crawl spaces and attics as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in water/fire/mold restoration is required.
- Construction and demolition experience is highly preferred — including framing, drywall, and general carpentry.
- Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems is a plus.
- Skilled in using power tools, hand tools, moisture meters, and restoration tech.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and working in various environmental conditions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to be part of an on-call rotation for emergency response, including weekends.
