Female Trainer Advisor Coach (TAC)
Reports To: Senior Female TAC Officer

Position Summary
Massanutten Military Academy seeks an energetic, compassionate, and highly organized Female Trainer Advisor Coach (TAC) to serve as a mentor, advisor, supervisor, and role model for female cadets residing on campus.
The Female TAC plays a vital role in fostering a safe, structured, disciplined, and supportive residential environment while promoting leadership, accountability, academic success, and personal growth. This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to positively influence young people in a military-style boarding school setting.
The successful candidate will build meaningful relationships with cadets while maintaining high standards of discipline, professionalism, and student welfare.
Essential Responsibilities
Cadet Supervision
- Supervise female cadets in the residence hall during assigned shifts.
- Always maintain accountability of cadets.
- Conduct room inspections and ensure cleanliness and order.
- Monitor student behavior and enforce Academy policies consistently and fairly.
- Patrol residence halls and common areas regularly rather than relying solely on surveillance equipment.
- Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all assigned cadets.
Mentorship & Student Development
- Serve as a trusted mentor and positive adult role model.
- Coach cadets in leadership, character development, responsibility, and personal accountability.
- Provide guidance regarding academics, organization, time management, and healthy decision-making.
- Encourage respect, teamwork, self-discipline, and integrity.
- Assist cadets with conflict resolution and interpersonal issues.
- Promote resilience, confidence, and emotional maturity.
Residential Life
- Assist with morning, evening, and weekend routines.
- Enforce lights-out, wake-up, and daily schedules.
- Monitor attendance and accountability.
- Assist with student arrivals, departures, and weekend activities.
- Support a positive residential community.
Discipline & Conduct
- Maintain consistent enforcement of Academy regulations.
- Document disciplinary incidents accurately and professionally.
- Maintain detailed duty logs during each shift.
- Communicate concerns promptly to supervisors.
- Apply corrective action fairly while maintaining respect for each cadet.
Safety & Emergency Response
- Respond appropriately to emergencies involving students.
- Administer basic first aid until medical personnel arrives (if trained).
- Follow emergency procedures for fire, severe weather, illness, accidents, or security incidents.
- Report safety hazards immediately.
Communication
- Work collaboratively with faculty, TAC staff, counselors, nurses, coaches, and administrators.
- Communicate professionally with parents when directed.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
- Participate in staff meetings and required professional development.
Campus Involvement
- Attend Academy events including:
- Athletic competitions
- Parades
- Awards ceremonies
- Parent weekends
- Graduation
- Special campus activities
- Participate in weekend and evening duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience working with adolescents is strongly preferred.
- Residential life, education, counseling, coaching, military, youth development, or leadership experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Ability to pass state and federal background checks.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Physical Requirements
The position requires the ability to:
- Walk campus extensively during assigned shifts.
- Climb stairs frequently.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Lift up to 30 pounds.
- Respond quickly to emergencies.
- Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as assigned.

- Submit accurate duty logs and incident reports.
- Participate in required training.
- Comply with all provisions of the Employee Handbook and Residential Life policies. These expectations are consistent with the TAC responsibilities outlined in the current employment contract.
Work Schedule
This is a 12-month, full-time residential position requiring flexible scheduling, including:
- Evenings
- Overnight shifts
- Weekends
- Holidays
- Special Academy events
