Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Glazier/Installer/Fabricator to join our commercial glass team. This position requires a hands-on professional with extensive experience in the fabrication and installation of commercial storefront and curtain wall systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of commercial hardware and aluminum systems, strong blueprint reading skills, and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Lead the installation of commercial storefronts, curtain walls, and glazing systems on construction sites
- Perform precise fabrication and field installation using a variety of commercial aluminum systems
- Read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications to ensure proper installation
- Oversee and mentor glazing crews, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met
- Identify and resolve field issues in coordination with project managers, foremen, and other trades
- Ensure proper handling, installation, and sealing of glass products according to job requirements
- Utilize knowledge of commercial hardware to complete installations with accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
Skills
- Experience in commercial storefront and curtain wall fabrication and installation
- Strong working knowledge of commercial glazing hardware
- Experience with multiple aluminum systems (e.g., Kawneer, YKK, EFCO, etc.) highly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
- Experience in leading crews and coordinating with other trades and management
- Knowledge of glass types and glazing techniques is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to safety
