We are currently seeking a Sr. GL Accountant for a contract position in Billerica, MA. This individual will handle the manual and systematic intercompany and external payable transactions between multiple entities. They will be responsible for reconciling intercompany and Vendor Payable balances, as well as being the conduit between all entities for intercompany transactions.
Shift of the Sr. GL Accountant:
Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Rate/Salary of the Sr. GL Accountant:
$55 per hour
Responsibilities of the Sr. GL Accountant:
- Record and reconcile transactions between all separate legal entities for internal and external reporting, including intercompany payables/receivables related to inventory transfers and sales.
- Track and prepare month-end accruals.
- Perform daily bank reconciliation, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring accurate cash balances in the general ledger.
- Manage the fixed asset subledger, ensuring accurate capitalization and compliance with company policies.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly internal financial packages and participate in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance reviews.
Qualifications of the Sr. GL Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field required; coursework in Accounting is a plus.
- 8+ years of general ledger accounting experience required.
- Strong Excel skills are required (sorting, sub-totaling, vertical look-up).
- Ability to learn new systems quickly; familiarity with Navision, Great Plains, or other MS Dynamics ERP systems is preferred.
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational and analytical skills.
