Duties
- Implement behavior intervention plans developed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to promote skill acquisition and reduce challenging behaviors
- Collect and record data meticulously during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, feeding, toileting, and other self-care routines
- Use applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to teach communication, social skills, and adaptive behaviors
- Collaborate with team members to develop and update individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding client confidentiality and managing medical records securely
- Support clients in various settings such as homes, schools, or clinics while ensuring a safe and positive environment
Skills
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy principles and applied behavior analysis techniques
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, especially autism spectrum disorder
- Ability to assist with ADLs and implement teaching strategies effectively
- Proficient in data collection methods and maintaining accurate medical documentation
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health and patient care
- Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and adaptability in working with diverse populations
