Job Summary : The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality radiographic (X-ray) and CT imaging studies for the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires the technologist to proficiently operate X-ray machines while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and proper positioning during procedures.
Key Responsibilities :
- X-ray Imaging :
- Perform general diagnostic X-ray exams, including chest, extremity, spine, and other anatomical areas.
- Ensure appropriate positioning of patients and proper selection of technical factors (e.g., exposure settings) to capture high-quality radiographic images.
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and regulatory requirements, ensuring the safety of patients and staff.
- Patient Care :
- Prepare patients for exams, explaining procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and addressing any concerns.
- Monitor patient condition during exams, providing appropriate care if necessary.
- Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Equipment Maintenance & Quality Control :
- Regularly inspect and maintain X-ray equipment to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.
- Report any technical issues with imaging equipment when necessary.
- Adhere to department protocols for cleanliness and infection control.
- Administrative Duties :
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of imaging studies.
- Assist in scheduling and workflow management to optimize patient throughput.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure effective communication and care coordination.
