Driver/Laborer – Family Owned Septic Company (CDL A or B with Tanker Endorsement)
Weidner’s Septic Service Inc. is a third‑generation, family‑owned septic company that has been serving the northwest suburbs since 1961. Our business was built over many decades, and we take pride in treating our employees the same way we treat our family. We are looking for a dependable Driver/Laborer who holds a Class A or B CDL with a Tanker Endorsement and is ready for hands‑on work in the field.
This position is a combination of driving and physical labor. Some days you will run the truck independently, traveling to job sites on your own. Other days you may have a helper working alongside you. Experience operating hydraulic PTO systems is strongly preferred, as our trucks rely on PTO‑driven pumping equipment.
Illinois requires a Septic Pumper License to legally pump septic tanks. If you do not have this license yet, we will provide the study guide, training, and support you need to prepare for the exam. We also pay the full cost of the exam. If you already hold your Septic Pumper License, we are open to discussing higher pay based on your experience and knowledge of septic systems.
Hourly pay ranges from $25 to $30 or more depending on your driving experience, septic knowledge, and ability to work efficiently in the field. We operate year‑round in all weather conditions and service residential and commercial septic tanks throughout the northwest suburbs.
Daily responsibilities include driving the septic truck to job sites, pulling hoses off the truck, dragging hoses across yards to reach the tank location, locating septic tanks, digging with a shovel when lids are buried, uncovering tanks that are not at surface level, and working in a fast‑paced environment. You will assist your coworker when needed, complete invoices at each job, communicate with customers, and represent our company with professionalism. Some jobs will require teamwork; others will be completed solo.
We offer weekly pay every Friday, opportunities for overtime, paid holidays, paid time off after one year, health and dental insurance, and a 401(k) with a 4% company match. We also provide company shirts, hats, and sweatshirts so you are equipped for the job.
Applicants must have a clean driving record, a valid state driver’s license, a professional appearance, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently. You must be self‑motivated, willing to learn, able to pass a drug screen, and comfortable with physical labor including digging. This is a Monday through Friday position with 40 or more hours per week and no weekend work.
