What We're Looking For
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Drywall Estimator to join our growing team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial drywall and framing projects throughout Florida.
The ideal candidate has experience estimating commercial drywall scopes, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Please note: Candidates without commercial drywall estimating experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to determine project requirements.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for drywall, metal framing, insulation, and GWB ceiling scopes.
- Prepare complete cost estimates including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Utilize estimating Edge software.
- Solicit, evaluate, and maintain vendor and supplier pricing to ensure competitive and accurate bids.
- Maintain supplier relationships and master pricing databases.
- Prepare detailed proposals, qualifications, exclusions, alternates, and value engineering recommendations.
- Manage RFIs, addenda, and revisions throughout the bidding process.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and walkthroughs as needed to verify existing conditions.
- Present completed estimates and bid packages by required deadlines.
- Develop project budgets and assist with project turnover upon award.
- Provide project information and estimate details to project management and field teams to support successful execution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, vendors, and industry partners.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial drywall estimating experience.
- Strong knowledge of drywall, metal framing, insulation, and exterior framing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proficiency in estimating and takeoff software, including Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail while maintaining efficiency and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to evaluate projects with both detailed accuracy and an overall business-minded approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ground-up commercial construction projects.
- Knowledge of local market pricing and subcontractor/vendor networks.
- Experience transitioning awarded projects into operations and field execution.
