Job Title: Prep Cook
As a Prep Cook, you will be an essential part of our team, ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. Your role will involve preparing ingredients, assisting in meal preparation, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety. What you’ll do
- Prepare and chop ingredients according to menu specifications, ensuring freshness and quality.
- Assist in cooking and placing ing under the guidance of the head chef.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Handle food items safely and efficiently, following proper food handling procedures.
- Support menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
- Participate in catering events as needed, contributing to a memorable dining experience.
Basic qualifications
- Experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
- Familiarity with menu planning and food preparation techniques.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of various cooking methods.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Background in the food industry or culinary arts is advantageous.
- Experience with catering services is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining individual accountability.
