Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and medical administrative support, demonstrating proficiency in various clinical settings. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality healthcare services, ensuring patient satisfaction, and supporting medical professionals in their daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for patients.
- Perform intake procedures, including obtaining medical histories, vital signs, and relevant information for patient records.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and assisting with appointment scheduling.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings including outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, and hospitals.
- Support emergency medicine protocols and assist during critical situations as required.
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and coding practices, including ICD coding.
Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively assist in patient care.
- Familiarity with dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, and hospital medicine practices.
- Experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in basic life support (BLS) techniques to ensure patient safety during emergencies.
- Strong understanding of medical-surgical procedures along with outpatient and inpatient care protocols.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures as needed within the scope of practice.
- Excellent communication skills to foster positive interactions with patients and healthcare staff alike.
