About the Opportunity
The CoBuilders LLC is seeking a dependable Independent Contractor to provide custodial and vault toilet maintenance services for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) within the Johnson Valley OHV Recreation Area.
This route services 5 public vault toilet facilities located throughout a remote recreation area. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently with a flexible, recurring schedule.
SchedulePeak Season (October 1 – April 30)
- One route per week
- Approximately 4 hours per cleaning
Off-Peak Season (May 1 – September 30)
- Two routes per month
- Approximately 4 hours per cleaning
Work Hours: Between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM
Pay
- $22.50 per hour
- Approximately $90 per cleaning
- Estimated Monthly Earnings:
- Peak Season: Approximately $720
- Off-Peak Season: Approximately $360
- Paid monthly via direct deposit
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize vault toilet facilities
- Pressure wash restroom floors
- Restock toilet tissue
- Remove trash and litter
- Remove graffiti, cobwebs, and debris
- Inspect facilities and report maintenance issues
- Complete service reports after each assigned route
Requirements
- Previous janitorial or facilities maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to work independently
- Reliable 4-wheel-drive pickup truck (minimum ½-ton)
- Ability to transport 100 gallons of water
- Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in remote desert conditions
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must pass any required federal background screening
