Position Title: Licensed Practical Nurse
Location: Riverview FL 33579
Duration: 10 Months with possible extension
Work Schedule: 07:40 AM to 01:55PM (Mon to Fri)
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Provide skilled nursing care to students in a school setting based on individualized healthcare plans.
- Administer medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, rectal, and gastric tube routes as prescribed.
- Perform specialized nursing procedures, including nebulizer and inhaler treatments, tracheostomy care, oral and tracheal suctioning, oxygen administration, catheterization, gastric tube feedings, G-tube care, and dressing changes.
- Monitor and manage students with chronic and acute medical conditions, including seizure disorders and diabetes, while responding promptly to medical emergencies using CPR/AED and First Aid.
- Assess students' health status, document care provided, maintain accurate medical records, and collaborate with school staff, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective student care.
Responsibilities for Supporting Medically Fragile Students:
- Provide individualized nursing care to medically fragile students in accordance with their healthcare plans and physician orders.
- Operate and monitor specialized medical equipment, including nebulizers, catheters, IVAC feeding pumps, Kangaroo (K-Pump) gastric and nasogastric feeding systems, and other related devices.
- Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in students' medical conditions, ensuring timely interventions and maintaining a safe school environment.
- Complete the district's required training for the care of medically fragile students and adhere to all school health policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to support students' health needs, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure continuity of care.

- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric healthcare experience is required.
- Prior experience in a school-based setting is preferred; however, candidates with pediatric experience in the following areas will also be considered: Home Health Pediatrics, Pediatric Clinic/Outpatient Care or Acute Care Pediatrics
- Active LPN license for the state of FL or Multistate license.
- BLS or CPR Certificate.
