Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Concrete Estimator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs related to concrete work, preparing detailed estimates, and collaborating closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors. Your expertise will help ensure projects are financially viable, competitive, and completed on time. Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to develop precise concrete cost estimates using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Conduct thorough site visits to gather on-the-ground information about existing conditions and potential challenges affecting cost and scheduling.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to negotiate pricing, secure competitive bids, and establish reliable cost controls.
- Prepare detailed proposals that include material quantities, labor costs, equipment needs, and contingency allowances.
- Monitor project budgets throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to financial targets and implement cost control measures as needed.
- Assist in contract negotiations by reviewing terms related to scope of work, change orders, and project timelines.
- Support project management teams by providing accurate estimates that facilitate effective scheduling and resource allocation.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of concrete estimating experience.
- Demonstrated experience estimating foundations, footings, walls, slabs, structural concrete, and sitework.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with PlanSwift, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience preparing complete bids from takeoff through proposal submission.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred
- Experience working for a concrete contractor or self-performing concrete contractor.
- Experience with commercial, residential, institutional, or heavy civil concrete projects.
- Knowledge of local NYC/NJ construction markets and pricing.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
