Precision Hose and Expansion Joints is a leading manufacturer in the hose and expansion joint industry. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Manual Machinist specializing in Lathe and Mill operations to join our team. As a Manual Machinist, you will play a critical role in the production of precision parts used in various industries.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual lathes and mills to fabricate parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine machining operations, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools, attachments, and fixtures for the machines.
- Perform machine adjustments and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the machining process.
- Monitor machining operations to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality.
- Maintain and clean machines, tools, and work area to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with the production team to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Manual Machinist, specializing in Lathe and Mill operations.
- In-depth knowledge of manual machining techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong ability to set up and operate manual lathes and mills independently.
- Skilled in selecting appropriate cutting tools, attachments, and fixtures.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience with CNC machining is a plus.
