Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Housekeeper you will perform housekeeping duties to maintain an assigned area in a sanitary and orderly condition.
Every day you will utilize the AIDET principle to communicate with others, with a focus on patients and their families. You will acknowledge, introduce, explain duration, and thank. You will clean floors, walls, ceiling, windows, furniture, and equipment according to established procedures, ensuring that assigned areas are clean, attractive, and safe for patients, visitors, and staff. You will clean occupied or discharged patient rooms thoroughly, accurately ensuring supplies are replenished and furniture is in an orderly arrangement. You will collect regular and medical waste using established safety practices ensuring protection of self, and collect soiled linen throughout the facility using appropriate body mechanics and safe handling equipment. You will ensure proper Personal Protective Equipment is used when performing cleaning in all areas of isolation.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate complete knowledge of medical waste handling and proper needle handling and disposal. You will demonstrate complete knowledge of the use and dilution of cleaning chemicals and germicidal cleaner. You will demonstrate understanding and competency regarding established isolation cleaning procedures and methods. You must also have the ability to read and write English and follow oral instructions.

One year of housekeeping or cleaning experience in a hospital, medical facility or a convalescent facility

Pay Range
$32.71 - $37.24 /hour
