About Us: The Playroom + Coffee Corner is a boutique play space and coffee shop in Morgantown, WV dedicated to providing a fun, safe, and engaging environment for children to play and grownups to connect. The Playroom features a variety of play areas and activities, all designed to inspire creativity and learning through play! In addition to drop-in play time, we also offer classes, special events, and birthday parties.
Job Overview: We are seeking a reliable, energetic individual to assist with our preschool class on Mondays, open play hours on Fridays, and open play + birthday parties on Saturdays. Paid training will be provided for both preschool class and birthday party responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Safety: Monitor children to ensure their safety at all times during classes. Engage with parents and children to maintain a friendly and comfortable environment.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to guests, including assisting with check-ins, taking payments, making specialty coffee drinks, and addressing concerns. Be prepared to go above and beyond! Help families carry birthday supplies in, help kids get their shoes on and off, give lot’s of high fives, stickers, and smiles!
- Activity Facilitation: Once trained, assist with preschool classes. Ensure activities are engaging, fun, and safe.
- Barista: Learn how to make high quality specialty espresso drinks, Lotus drinks, and more.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of play areas, bathroom, and coffee shop, ensuring all equipment and toys are sanitized regularly. Report any maintenance or safety issues to the owner.
- Birthday Party Coordination: Set up, host, and clean up birthday parties and special events. Help create memorable experiences for guests.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience working with children is required. Experience in a customer service role is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable engaging with children and parents as well as managing group dynamics effectively.
- Traits: Responsible, reliable, patient, and enthusiastic with a genuine interest in working with children. As a small business, consistency and reliability are extremely important, as you may be scheduled to open and/or close the business and must be on-time and reliable.
- Requirements: Must have reliable transportation.
