In this position, you’ll represent the department in the community, collaborate with schools and referral partners, and serve as the welcoming face for new team members. The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
- Source candidates through job boards, state employment systems, hiring platforms, outreach events, and community partnerships to build a strong pipeline of qualified applicants.
- Proactively identify new sourcing channels, including schools, workforce programs, and referral networks, and cultivate long term relationships with each.
- Screen applicants to assess qualifications, interest, and job readiness, ensuring strong alignment with program and organizational needs.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers, participants, and community partners, ensuring timely communication throughout the process.
- Manage the applicant tracking process, including updating candidate statuses, logging activities, and maintaining complete and accurate records.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates by providing updates, answering questions, and helping them navigate each step of the hiring process.
- Represent the department at job fairs, hiring events, campus visits, and community outreach activities.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with schools, referral partners, and community based organizations to support ongoing recruitment needs.
- Support onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring a smooth and supportive transition into the organization.
- Provide new team members with introductions to general policies, procedures, guidelines, and department expectations.
- Serve as a liaison and mentor during a new hire’s first 30 days, helping them acclimate, answering questions, and ensuring access to needed resources.
- Coordinate and manage the organization’s internship program, including sourcing candidates, facilitating selection processes, overseeing onboarding, and supporting intern engagement.
- Serve as a liaison for talent and organizational initiatives, partnering with cross functional teams to support program alignment, communication, and successful implementation.
- Maintain organized documentation, records, and compliance files related to recruitment and onboarding.
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to evaluate recruitment strategies and make recommendations for improvement.
- Assist with continuous improvement efforts by identifying bottlenecks, enhancing communication touchpoints, and supporting data driven recruitment decisions.
Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- Experience in recruiting, workforce development, or human resources preferred
- Strong communication and relationship building abilities, with the capacity to engage candidates, community partners, and hiring managers.
- Proven ability to manage multiple candidates, priorities, and deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills, including accurate documentation, recordkeeping, and follow through.
- Familiarity with HireTrue/MOCareers or similar applicant tracking systems preferred.
- Ability to represent the department professionally at community events, outreach activities, and partner meetings.
- A collaborative, people focused approach with a strong commitment to supporting new hires during their first 30 days.
