JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Speech Therapist is directly supervised by a Program Officer and is responsible for providing services to students in grades K-12 in various schools throughout the district.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Attends and participates in team meetings.
2. Provides therapy to students in grades K-12 in various schools throughout the district, in accordance with IEP.
3. Maintains progress monitoring data to share with families, students, and team members.
4. Writes evaluation and reevaluation reports, IEPs, progress reports.
5. Completes medical ACCESS billing.
6. Participates in staff meetings and professional development sessions.
7. Collaborates and consults with teachers, families, related service providers, and other professionals.
8. Supports use of augmentative and alternative communication systems with students.
9. Maintains a safe environment for students.
10. May need to travel to multiple sites within the day via car. The floater position requires travel to various locations within the district based on the highest need.
11. Step in for SLPs who are on maternity leave, medical leave, or extended absence.
12. Provide make-up sessions for students who missed their scheduled therapy due to staff shortages, student absences, or other disruptions
13. Provide additional support to SLPs with high caseloads to maintain manageable workloads and ensure quality of services.
14. Perform speech and language assessments (informal and formal) for students when assigned or when regular SLPs are unavailable
15. Assist in the development and updating of IEPs, ensuring compliance with legal timelines and goals are adequately addressed.
16. Other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor in support of the department's or school’s goals and objectives and the District's mission and Superintendent's Priority Goals
EDUCATION REQUIRED
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIRED
- Pennsylvania Department of Education Instructional Certification in Speech and Language Impaired, Certificate of Clinical Competency.
- PA Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
