Assist with completion of financial statement audits, other assurance engagements, and informational tax returns by accurately performing assigned tasks and in a timely manner, in accordance with firm policies and quality control standards.
Primary responsibilities:
- Prepare thorough and accurate workpapers in accordance with firm standards.
- Perform assigned audit procedures using relevant audit standards.
- Conducts self-review to ensure work is complete and accurate.
- Complete tasks within Pre-Fieldwork and Fieldwork phases of assigned engagements.
- Assist audit seniors and managers with Staging, Planning, and Financial Statement phases of assigned engagements.
- Assist in the drafting of financial statements for assigned engagements.
- Prepare and process confirmations and other audit related correspondence.
- Develop a basic understanding of the firm’s audit methodology.
- Travel to client offices to perform assigned tasks where appropriate.
- Prepare informational tax returns and related workpapers for review.
- Provide responsive and friendly client service.
- Assist other team members with their responsibilities as assigned.
- Perform other tasks and assignments as requested.
Requires the following skills:
- Computer and software proficiency including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, remote environments).
- Time management skills to prioritize incoming workflow to meet all expectations in a deadline-focused environment.
- Professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to operate copy machines, fax machines, and scanners.
- Proficient using a 10-key calculator.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong word processing, spelling, letter composition, and grammatical skills.
- Proficient speech, literacy, and understanding of the primary language(s) used in the workplace, both verbal and written.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic computational ability.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and able to handle multiple tasks and projects daily.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of the importance of client privacy and confidentiality rules.
- Ability to travel (client locations, firm events, etc.).
