Head of Construction – Licensed General Contractor

About the Role
Lagom Development is seeking an experienced Head of Construction to lead residential construction operations and help build a scalable construction platform.
This is a senior leadership role for a licensed General Contractor with strong residential construction experience who can manage projects, teams, subcontractors, budgets, schedules, and quality from preconstruction through completion.
Responsibilities
- Lead construction operations across residential projects.
- Manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams.
- Oversee projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout.
- Establish construction processes, standards, and SOPs.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Coordinate with development, design, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
- Build and manage a strong subcontractor and vendor network.
- Identify and resolve construction issues and risks.
- Help scale Lagom's construction operations as the company grows.
Requirements
- Active General Contractor license required.
- Strong residential construction/homebuilding experience.
- Proven experience managing construction projects and teams.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, codes, permitting, and inspections.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work on-site and travel to project locations as needed.
Preferred
- Experience with residential development or production homebuilding.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience building or scaling a construction organization.
- Experience with panelized, modular, prefabricated, or off-site construction.
- Experience developing construction SOPs and standardized processes.
- Previous experience in a senior construction leadership role.
