Medical Records Clerk - Disability Forms
Position Objective: Process Disability Forms, electronic filing; scanning, managing fax file folders and various medical records tasks in a timely manner.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma.
- Good communication skills
- Solid computer skills
- Good working knowledge of general medical terminology
- Close attention to detail
- Prior experience in the legal field or work as a paralegal is a plus
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Maintain a working knowledge of the NextGen EPM, EMR, and ICS operating system
- Complete patient disability forms
- Record staff processing of disability forms
- Respond to patient inquires regarding disability forms
- Collect payment for disability forms
- Process and maintains electronic incoming faxes and distributes
- Maintains a working knowledge of scanners
- Maintains a working knowledge of creating, scanning, and filing batches in ICS
- Maintains a working knowledge of scanning prepped charts in ICS
- Ability to interface with support departments and articulate issues and concerns.
Physical/Mental Demands: High levels of mental concentration are required. Must handle multiple tasks simultaneously and subject to interruptions. Physical effort requires sitting for long periods of time, repetitive movements, ability to lift 20 lbs, stoop/ squat, reach above shoulder level and climb.
