About Us
We're a flight training academy operating a fleet of 14 Piper aircraft across two locations — Stratford and Oxford. We're looking for an experienced FAA-certificated A&P/IA mechanic to lead our maintenance team and help keep our training fleet safe, airworthy, and flying.
About the Role
This is a temp to hire supervisory position. You'll oversee a team of mechanics, ensuring consistent maintenance standards, scheduling, and regulatory compliance fleet-wide. You'll also stay hands-on when needed — reviewing work, troubleshooting tough issues, and stepping in on the line.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day work of the mechanic team
- Assign, review, and sign off on maintenance, inspections, and repairs
- Perform and sign off annual inspections as IA
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer service bulletins, and ADs across the fleet
- Manage scheduled inspections (100-hour, annual) and unscheduled maintenance/AOG issues
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records for all 14 aircraft
- Coordinate parts ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships
- Train, mentor, and evaluate junior mechanics and A&P students/apprentices
- Communicate with flight operations on aircraft availability and downtime
Requirements
- Current FAA A&P Certificate with Inspection Authorization (IA) — required
- Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience; prior lead/supervisory experience preferred
- Experience with Piper aircraft (single and/or multi-engine) strongly preferred
- Leadership and communication skills — able to manage a team and set priorities
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable, safety-first mindset
Pay: From $55.00 per hour
