We are currently looking for a skilled Load Tap Changer (LTC) Technician / Technical Trainer to bolster our internal operations and educational initiatives. This role offers a unique blend of direct technical maintenance and the chance to educate both staff and clients on the intricacies of LTC overhaul, assembly, testing, and control mechanisms.
The successful applicant will possess a deep background in power transformer and Load Tap Changer maintenance, a natural aptitude for resolving equipment challenges, and a genuine enthusiasm for mentoring others.

Core Duties
Technical Operations

Execute the assembly, disassembly, repair, and complete overhaul of Load Tap Changer units.

Conduct comprehensive electrical and mechanical evaluations, including Hi-Pot, TTR, Ductor, and Megger testing.

Help ensure equipment reliability by identifying and resolving complex mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.

Analyze technical blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and control drawings to guide work.

Verify the integrity of control systems, including alarms, interlocks, CT wiring, and auxiliary components.

Help maintain a safe and high-quality working environment by strictly adhering to all established safety protocols.
Technical Training

Facilitate both classroom-based and practical technical instruction for staff, service teams, and external clients.

Create and update essential training documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and technical manuals.

Assess the proficiency of trainees through hands-on demonstrations and formal knowledge testing.

Act as the primary technical authority regarding LTC systems and industry best practices.
Continuous Improvement

Generate detailed technical reports and maintain accurate testing records.

Contribute to organizational growth by supporting initiatives that boost safety, quality, productivity, and training outcomes.

Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and Sales departments to refine product designs and operational workflows.
Qualifications
Required
-
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

At least 5 years of professional experience specifically with power transformers and LTCs.

Background in transformer assembly, field service, testing, or general maintenance.

Proven ability to troubleshoot equipment and produce precise technical documentation.

Possession of a valid driver's license.
Preferred

Formal degree or certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Technology.

Prior experience in a mentorship or technical training capacity.

Exposure to a variety of LTC manufacturer platforms.
Knowledge & Skills
