Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work directly under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to prepare prescriptions, interact with patients, and ensure the pharmacy operates efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, friendly, and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prescription Processing: Receive and verify prescription orders, enter patient and medication information into the pharmacy computer system, and prepare/package medications.
- Customer Service: Greet patients, answer multi-line phone calls, assist with over-the-counter (OTC) product inquiries, and direct medical questions to the pharmacist.
- Billing & Insurance: Process and troubleshoot insurance claims, verify coverage, and resolve prescription rejections.
- Inventory Management: Monitor pharmaceutical stock, check for expired medications, order supplies, and maintain a clean, organized workstation.
- Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding the handling and dispensing of medications, including controlled substances.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Licensure: Active Pharmacy Technician License with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy or ability to obtain one.
- Experience: Previous retail pharmacy or customer service experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong mathematical calculations, excellent verbal communication, and basic computer proficiency.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, and the ability to lift/carry items weighing up to 30 lbs.
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
