WHO WE ARE
Biscuit Belly is a modern, fast-growing breakfast/brunch concept built on bold flavors, genuine people, and a whole lot of fun. As the Kitchen Lead, you're the backbone of the back of house, the person the team leans on, the one the GM trusts with the keys, and the reason the kitchen runs the way it should.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As the Kitchen Lead, you're the most skilled cook in the building and the most trusted. You know every station, you know every standard, and you make sure every plate that leaves the line is one we'd put our name on. On days the GM is off, you're the senior team member on site, holding the standard they set. If you love the craft, thrive in a high-energy kitchen, and lead by example, this one's for you.
HOW YOU SHOW UP — THROUGH OUR CORE VALUES
Boldly authentic
You set the example, and you always show up to give your best because it's who you are. You show up 100% yourself, communicate honestly, and make the people around you better.
Relentless hospitality
Hospitality starts in the kitchen. You know the plate you send out is the guest's whole experience, and you hold that standard and help your team do the same.
Chase big. Keep it fun.
High standards and good energy aren't opposites here. You push for excellence and still make the shift something people look forward to, every single day.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Master the line
- Work every station in the kitchen at an expert level: prep, biscuit, line, and dish
- Work a kitchen position alongside the Team; you lead by the quality of your own work
- Open and close the kitchen and run the opening and closing checklists
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and quality standards, every plate, every time
- Support the store through health and safety inspections
Hold the standard
- Be the senior team member on site when the GM is off, keeping the shift running to the plan they set
- Train Team Members on stations using our established training process
- Show technique and answer questions when someone needs a refresher
- Be the go-to resource when the kitchen needs help
- Flag equipment, product, quality, or safety issues to the GM
Know the whole restaurant
- Communicate inventory levels and product needs to the GM
- Manage prep levels against the plan to meet demand while keeping waste down
- Keep the kitchen communicating, with each other and with the front, so service runs smooth
- Learn the front of house alongside the back, so you can flex whole-house when the store needs it
WHERE THIS GOES
This job is a launchpad, not a landing spot. Kitchen Lead is the last step before running your own restaurant, and we built it that way on purpose. Master the product, prove you can teach it to anyone, and hold the standard when no one's watching, and you're exactly who we're building our next wave of General Managers from. When you're ready for that next step you’ll have a know how labor, scheduling, ordering, and leading people work.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 1 year in a high-volume kitchen; training or lead experience preferred
- Real command of the craft and a high standard for consistency
- Patience and clarity when teaching someone who's still learning
- Calm under pressure, consistent under volume, uncompromising on standards
- Strong communicator; you listen as well as you lead by example
- A true Biscuit Belly culture ambassador
- Trustworthy with the keys and the close
- Kitchen is home, but you're open to learning the front of house too
- Food Safety Manager Certification, or willing to earn one within 60 days
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Able to stand for 7–8 hour shifts and lift up to 50 lbs
- Day shift availability required, no evenings, ever
