Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori Pre-School Teacher to foster a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, with experience in Montessori methods, curriculum development, and classroom management. This role involves guiding children through their developmental milestones, promoting literacy, numeracy, social skills, and overall well-being in a supportive setting. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues to implement innovative lesson plans and ensure each child's individual needs are met, fostering a love for learning from an early age.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging Montessori-based curriculum tailored to preschool-aged children.
- Plan and execute daily lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Manage classroom activities to create a structured yet flexible environment conducive to exploration and discovery.
- Observe and assess children's developmental progress, adjusting teaching strategies accordingly.
- Support early intervention efforts and address special education needs when applicable.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development.
- Foster positive behavior management strategies to promote respectful interactions and social skills among children.
- Ensure safety and welfare of all children by adhering to childcare standards and best practices in child welfare.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom management techniques, and school events.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to early childhood education, Montessori pedagogy, and classroom technology.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, preferably within Montessori or private school environments.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and practices, including toddler care and behavior management.
- Expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management.
- Familiarity with special education principles, early intervention strategies, and standardized testing methods.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs.
- Experience with teaching physical education activities and fostering overall child welfare.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom efficiently while maintaining a nurturing atmosphere.
- Passion for early childhood education with a commitment to fostering curiosity and lifelong learning in young students.
Pay: $18.00 - $21.36 per hour
