Develops, promotes and delivers programs for enrichment and outreach as it relates to the YMCA Beacon Program at Lucy Addison Middle School. Manages and serves as the main point of contact for staff, volunteers and enrichment activities. Serves in a key role with staff training. Serves in accordance with the mission, values and policies of the association.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide vision, strategic leadership and development of the Beacon Program to ensure quality youth development, academic and enrichment programming, family partnership services, school transition programming and behavior health and wellness coordination.

Creates, develops and implements new programming in response to community needs

Ensure program and partnership quality and consistency throughout the school, and provide meaningful opportunities for community input

Co-lead the community school effort with the principal

Recruit, develop, maintain, and coordinate program partners and volunteers identified to meet the diverse needs of Lucy Addison Middle School students and families.

Oversee program evaluation and the utilization of evaluation findings in program development to ensure positive outcomes

Manages activity areas and assures the safety, cleanliness, and operation of equipment

Participates in community programs such as civic events, health projects and expositions to promote YMCA & Beacon activities

Operates within the parameters of the approved budget. Corrects variances

Must have the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community

Hire, train, and supervise paid staff

Lead Beacon and school program partner meetings

Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to effectively interpret and communicate information

- Ability to work in varying environments, either indoors or outdoors, on premise or off.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs, and occasionally lift and move up to 100 lbs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 year degree and/or education and experience , preferably experience working with youth and families
- CPR and First Aid certified
- Computer literate and proficient in typing
- Passionate belief in the YMCA mission and strong human relation skills
- Ability to relate to key volunteers, staff, and program participants of varying ages
