Job Summary
The Environmental Health Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring public health and safety by monitoring and enforcing regulations related to environmental health standards. This position involves conducting inspections, educating the community, and collaborating with various stakeholders to promote healthy practices within food establishments, including restaurants and banquet facilities. Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of food establishments to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Evaluate sanitation practices and food handling procedures in restaurants, cafes, and banquet facilities.
- Provide guidance and support to food industry personnel on best practices for food safety and management.
- Investigate complaints related to environmental health issues, including foodborne illnesses.
- Collaborate with local businesses to develop and implement effective health programs.
- Educate the community on environmental health topics through workshops and outreach initiatives.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures aimed at improving public health standards.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and recommendations.
Skills
