About the Role
The Medication Specialist plays a key role in supporting safe, accurate medication management for residents in our treatment programs. You will coordinate medication counts, manage refills with the pharmacy, maintain documentation, and work alongside nursing and clinical staff to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires excellent organization, attention to detail, and high accountability.
What You’ll Do
Medication Management
- Complete scheduled medication counts
- Request refills from pharmacy and ensure timely delivery
- Receive and document incoming medications
- Maintain and update the resident medication list
- Create and manage the medication binder
- Ensure all medications are current and properly stored
- Assist with insurance or authorization updates
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain complete resident medication records
- Update physician order changes and track follow up
- Complete and maintain temperature logs
- Support preparation for internal and external audits
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with nursing and clinical teams
- Communicate updates and discrepancies promptly
- Follow through on provider instructions
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or residential treatment preferred
- Strong organization and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently with high attention to detail
- Effective communication with providers, pharmacy, and team members
- Must pass CORI/SORI checks
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally

- Medication counts completed accurately and on time
- Medication binder and logs are consistently up to date
- No major documentation discrepancies during audits
- Clear, timely communication with team regarding medication status
