Job Overview
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining controlled access to the property by monitoring all incoming and outgoing traffic. This position serves as the first point of contact for visitors, vendors, and employees, ensuring all individuals are properly verified and authorized before entering the site.
The officer will maintain accurate logs, communicate with site personnel, and observe for any unusual or suspicious activity. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work independently in a structured, low-traffic or high-traffic environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, alert, and comfortable performing routine tasks such as access control, documentation, and basic customer service while ensuring the safety and security of the premises
Duties
- 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Possess a clear drivers license and pass criminal history check
- Must be over the age of 21.
- Must have a level 2 Texas Private Security Guard License or be willing to get certified.
- Work under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
- Assume overall responsibility for the safety and security of designated areas
- Patrol designated areas in accordance with outlined security procedures
- Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly
- Protect the company's assets relative to theft, fire and other safety issues
- Complete activities/reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities electronically
- Ensure all employees and visitors have proper credentials for accessing designated areas
- Respond to emergencies and incidents within designated areas promptly and according to policy
- Provide excellent customer service
- Escalate emergency situations to law enforcement/fire department/ambulance service as needed
- Monitor alarms and security cameras
- Adhere to all company service and operating standards.
