Position: Swim Instructor, Part Time

Reports to: Aquatics Director
Pay Range: $17.13 hour depending on experience and qualifications
The PC, premier health and sports campus of the northwest, has an immediate need for a Part Time Swim Instructor to join our team for the summer!
MUST HAVE OPEN AVAILABILITY DURING SUMMER.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- As part of our StarFish Swim School, we teach water safety and swimming skills.
- Instruct students in various levels based on age, comfort level, and ability using toys, songs, games and drills to build a lifelong love of swimming and water safety.
- Adjust and apply a variety of teaching styles and methods to best meet the needs of each student.
- Regularly evaluate students skills and abilities and challenge them to work on progressively harder skills.
- Develop and maintain relationships through professional, ongoing communication with parents and caregivers with regards to goals, expectations, student progress and “homework” assignments for skills practice; answering any questions and/or concerns that may arise.
Successful candidates will be able to commit to teaching a set mini session lesson durin the summer M-Th 4-8pm, 10-15 hours per week, weekdays and/or weekends, specifically Saturday mornings. Required Qualifications:
- Ability to demonstrate all swimming skills to be taught, including, but not limited to: going underwater, rhythmic breathing, back floats, arm patterns, kicks, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, flip turns, jumps and dives.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills with the ability to work with and interact with all kinds of people of all ages.
- Ability to physically hold up and support students to help them with various skills.
- Ability to move equipment (including chairs and docks in and out of the water), lifting up to 50 lbs. intermittently.
- Must be willing to participate in employer provided yearly CPR/AED/First Aid training.
