What we're looking for:
- Strong experience with Siemens NX CAD 2412
- Experience using Teamcenter 2506
- Creating and updating 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings
- Solid understanding of GD&T and part tolerancing
- Ability to identify and resolve CAD model clashes/interferences
- Experience supporting engineering design changes and drawing revisions
Lead-level candidates should also have:
- Experience leading design efforts
- Ability to track project progress and generate basic performance metrics (burndown charts, status reports, etc.)

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer with expertise in NX CAD software to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed mechanical designs, creating accurate 2D and 3D models, and supporting system integration projects across various engineering disciplines. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative product development and complex system design, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. The ideal applicant will possess a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, extensive experience with CAD software, and a proactive approach to technical problem-solving.
Duties
- Develop comprehensive mechanical designs using NX CAD software, including 3D modeling and 2D drafting for product and system components.
- Create detailed schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and assembly drawings aligned with project requirements.
- Collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems within larger project frameworks, ensuring seamless system functionality.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards to ensure precision manufacturing and assembly.
- Support the design of mechanical systems by utilizing FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for stress analysis and performance validation.
- Maintain accurate CAD documentation, version control, and data management using PDM (Product Data Management) software.
- Review technical specifications, industry codes (such as ASME standards), and client requirements to ensure compliance throughout the design process.
- Assist in the development of piping layouts, schematics, and P&IDs for complex systems.
- Contribute to technical writing efforts by preparing detailed reports, design documentation, and assembly instructions.
- Participate in design reviews, providing insights on manufacturability, assembly efficiency, and system reliability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience in mechanical drafting, 3D CAD modeling, and system design using NX software.
- Proficiency with additional CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, MicroStation, NavisWorks, Revit, Bluebeam, and Pro/ENGINEER is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles including GD&T, FEA analysis, piping design, and schematics creation.
- Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) tools and construction experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels and piping systems.
- Experience designing mechanical systems for various industries including manufacturing or construction environments.
- Excellent technical writing skills coupled with effective communication abilities.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and engineering specifications accurately.
- Knowledge of CAD documentation procedures and version control practices using PDM software.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in complex project environments.
