After School Program Counselor (Part-Time)

About the Role
YWCO is seeking caring, energetic, and dependable After School Program Counselors to help create a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children after school. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and want to make a positive impact in their community.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday (school days)
- Approximately 10–25 hours per week
- Hours typically fall between school dismissal and early evening
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with elementary-aged children during after school hours
- Assist with daily activities, games, crafts, and enrichment programs
- Help children with homework when needed
- Foster a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants
- Encourage positive behavior and model respectful interactions
- Assist with snack distribution, clean-up, and daily program organization
- Follow YWCO policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with fellow staff members and supervisors
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with children preferred but not required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, positive, and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to pass a criminal background check

Compensation
- $13.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience
