Salary: $18.73/hr. minimum - $21.85/hr. midpoint (Depending on qualifications)
To lead and participate in a wide variety of highly responsible clerical duties in the collection, verification and balancing of receipts; to provide effective and efficient accounting and revenue receipt support as assigned.

SUPERVISION
General supervision is provided by the Collections Supervisor. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Review the work of cashiers citywide; provide training and direction as needed; assist in resolving unusual problems and handling situations characterized by sensitivity.

Reconcile deposits to cash reports from cashiers citywide; prepare external interface files to post transactions to the general ledger; electronically deposit checks; and prepare all deposits for transportation to bank.

Import files daily from various point-of-sale systems into the general ledger.

Maintain Cash on Hand Report and reconcile to the General Ledger quarterly.

Train new cashiers as needed.

Conduct annual audit of Cash on Hand.

Maintain listing of required annual training on Cash Handling.

Back up for Central Cashier during breaks, Utility Billing and Revenue Collections Customer Service Representatives as needed.

Provide Customer Service to Utility Billing and Tax customers.

Troubleshoot Merchant Accounts with payment processors.

Prepare and review a variety of correspondence, reports, and documents as assigned including a daily report of accounting receipts; complete various forms; prepare and distribute reports for review and use.

Provide clerical support to assist designated division staff in the completion of their duties and responsibilities.

Screen and direct calls and visitors as appropriate; answer questions and provide information to the public; refer citizen and client complaints and questions to appropriate department or division staff member for resolution.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collect, sort and process incoming and outgoing mail.

Maintain a variety of files and filing systems; prepare, maintain and update various records; and verify information as requested.

Perform other duties as assigned.
