Learn all about powder coating & grow your skillset with F3 Metalworx! These entry-level positions (Utility) are truly entry level. If you're new to manufacturing and have a strong desire to learn, have little to no experience working in powder coating and want to develop a career in manufacturing, our line utility positions are for you!
1st shift availability, with potential for weekend shift as openings come available. These roles are for our North East (16428) facility.
On-the-job and cross training, weekly team performance pays, and opportunities for growth are available!
Must Haves
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. on your own and up to 200+ lbs. in a team lift or with equipment assistance
- Ability to walk, bend, stoup, crouch, kneel, climb, stand for 10 hours
- Ability to work in high temperatures
- Ability to communicate needs and concerns in a timely manner
- Ability to read and understand process sheets
- Ability to hear horns, buzzers, and an intercom page
- Ability to wear proper PPE- safety glasses, earplugs, gloves, and steel or safety toe shoes or boots
Good To Haves
- Experience in a manufacturing facility
- Powder coating line experience
- Attendance - Observes prescribed work break/meal periods and has an acceptable overall attendance record
- Behavior - Follows company policies, procedures and work conduct rules
Duties and Responsibilities
Loading
- Identify proper tooling (such as flight bars, jigs, hooks, chains, orientation etc.)
- Ensure proper jig/hook placement
- Verify min/max height allowances
- Set accurate washer settings (all stages on, water pressure, temperature, and drainage pan settings)
- Identify and change line speeds, ensure proper densities and drainage
Packing
- Ensure proper packing material as described in the process manual for each customer
- Monitor and maintain correct oven temperature
- Identify and follow prescribed min/max height allowances and line speed according to the process manual
- Verify proper coating and adhesion of coating on parts
General Line Utility Responsibilities
- Assist in the establishment of new part setup
- Follow production schedule and identify any urgent or new parts
- Report any broken equipment or tools to supervisor in a timely manner
- Verify process sheets for each part, and notify supervisor when one is not available or inaccuracies are found
- Communicate clearly with forklift driver to get tools to the line in a timely manner to avoid down time
- Communicate with other teammates to ensure that items are properly loaded and packed
- Assist in training new employees
- Identify and verify part numbers/names
- Verify counts (report any discrepancies to supervisor)
- Pay close attention to transitions between setups and/or parts, notify supervisor if assistance is needed during transitions
- Initiate process improvements as necessary
- Keep work area organized and clear from unnecessary debris.
