Responsibilities
- Provide peer support advocacy by sharing personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and motivation.
- Conduct client assessments to identify needs related to substance use, mental health conditions, and co-occurring disorders.
- Develop individualized recovery plans utilizing motivational interviewing and harm reduction techniques.
- Offer crisis management and crisis intervention to de-escalate situations and ensure client safety.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client information while documenting progress in electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and connect clients with additional behavioral health resources.
- Mentor clients through ongoing support, skill-building activities, and behavioral health education tailored to diverse cultural backgrounds.
Skills
- Strong crisis management and crisis intervention skills to handle urgent situations effectively.
- Deep understanding of behavioral health, addiction counseling, mental health counseling, and social work principles.
- Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Proficiency in motivational interviewing, harm reduction strategies, and client communication techniques.
- Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse communities, demonstrating sensitivity and respect for different backgrounds.
- Skilled in mentoring, peer support advocacy, and sharing personal recovery experiences to foster trust.
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and case management purposes.
- Completed the Recovery Coach Course and ethics training.
