Summary: Assumes responsibility for posting payments for facility billing on a UB-92. Reviews records to ensures all remark codes have the correct action to adjust and/or deny the claim for further follow up. Position Requirements: Must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of UB-92 billing classification system. Ability to utilize appropriate reference materials. Have a working knowledge of the different insurance companies posting guidelines. Computer experience required. Must exhibit strong communication skills and an ability to organize workload, and work independently and efficiently. Work with small department to promote strong team ethic and complete all aspects of record keeping with focus on accuracy, timeliness and customer service. Have the ability to work on your own and to be able to make critical decisions. Qualifications: Associates degree in Health Information Technology, High school diploma or GED required. Knowledge of UB-92 coding services required. 2 years of Facility based posting required with a strong background in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease process.
