Join our dynamic team as a Meat / Deli Clerk specializing in customer service, where your enthusiasm and culinary skills will create a welcoming shopping experience for our valued customers. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting fresh meats and deli products, assisting customers with their selections, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. Your energy and attention to detail will help foster a vibrant, efficient environment that emphasizes quality service and product excellence.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly, providing knowledgeable assistance with meat and deli selections to enhance their shopping experience
- Prepare, slice, package, and display a variety of meats, cheeses, and deli items using food preparation techniques aligned with safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including food handling stations, counters, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Manage inventory levels by restocking deli items regularly while monitoring product freshness and expiration dates
- Assist with cashiering duties including cash handling, processing transactions, and providing excellent customer service at checkout stations
- Assist with Sandwich Making and lunch Items
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service, grocery retail, or a quick service/fast food restaurant environment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety standards, and sanitation practices within the food industry
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient transaction processing
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell products confidently and professionally
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and accurate measurement of ingredients or portions
- Kitchen or culinary experience is a plus; serving or cashiering experience is beneficial but not required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy boxes or moving supplies safely
