We are looking for a full time Service & Installation Manager. The primary focus of this position is to facilitate all projects of the company at specific sites, service areas and as required by the company. The Service & Installation Manager will also be directly responsible in supervising Project Leads/Foreman's, Field Technicians, engineers, architects, plumbers, electricians, subcontractors and municipal inspectors to ensure projects are ongoing according to plan from start to finish. Consistent customer communication is expected.
Primary Responsibilities:
Pre Project Responsibilities:
- Advanced review of estimate sheet, work scope, shop drawings and engineering drawings.
- Advanced preparation of materials/tools needed.
- Ensuring sufficient supply of materials with regards to upcoming projects.
- Preparing purchase orders relevant to material purchases.
- Arranging delivery of materials as planned to the project site.
- Advanced preparation of labor supply.
- Scheduling members of crew to specific projects in advance.
- Ensuring a proper balance of field technicians correlating to project size/needed skills.
- Advanced preparation of permits and undergrounds as required based on project type.
- Advanced preparation of utility based product installation/removal based on project type.
On-Site Responsibilities:
- Organize and plan the completion process of the project from start to finish.
- Ensure on-site job progress based on estimate sheet, shop drawings and engineering drawings.
- Ensure on-site project progress based on scheduled plan and given time availability.
- Ensure work quality is performed and maintained up to the predetermined UTECH work standards and quality expectations.
- Ensure all safety standards are adhered to at all times.
- Solve, mediate any/all conflicts, confrontations between field technicians on-site.
- Promote positive attitude and work spirit.
- Answer all production relevant questions from on site production crew.
- Address and correct production crew job shortcomings immediately.
- Ensure consistency when providing feedback and answers to production crews.
- Ensure consistency when correcting/teaching strategies and techniques.
- Ensure services and installations are conducted and completed in strict accordance with the predetermined UTECH work standards and quality expectations.
- Focus on improving productivity and efficiency of production crew.
- Responsible for the effective development, coordination and presentation of on the job training for production crews.
- Identify individual weaknesses and arrange suitable approach methods to achieve best immediate impact.
- Focus on employee education with regards to quality improvements and enhancement.
Post Project Responsibilities
- Submit all relevant project documentation and paperwork as required to the office personnel.
- Complete on-site project completion inspection to ensure quality.
- Interact with customers as needed and walk through the project site to explain, debrief all completed work and answer all questions the customer may have.
- Complete payment collection process with the customer.
- Collect reviews, referrals and customers completed ‘Job Satisfaction Forms”.
In-House Responsibilities:
- Ensure all facilities standards are maintained primarily in the shop as described and defined by the management team.
- Maintain and keep account of the materials and tools supply.
- Inventory materials and tools checked out by field technicians.
- Maintain vehicle service log and schedule needed maintenance and inspections as necessary.
- Ensure all garbage, debris, general cleanliness are maintained around the shop at all times.
- Begin implementing a zero in house material policy. All materials should be ordered and delivered directly to the project site.
- Additional extras and/or unused materials should be immediately returned to its place of purchase.
Quality Assurance Responsibilities:
- Complete knowledge of standardized procedures for all service and installation projects.
- Continuous analysis on improvements that can be implemented in the production capacity.
- Accurate and systematic guideline/job outline that is thoroughly followed to establish production job consistency.
- Develop “one system, one standard” consistency throughout all production areas.
- Promptly provide accurate answers to project leads/ foremans and field technicians on field.
- Establish “one system, one standard” quality guideline for production crew.
- Provide management team with weekly reports indicating quality concerns/improvements.
- Abide by company policies and production quality guidelines at all times.
- Responsibly make “on the spot” decisions with regards to ensuring company quality and service.
Field Inspection Responsibilities
- Inspection on job sites according to predetermined inspection schedule as determined by the management team.
- Prioritize job quality and consistency.
- Address concerns and issues with consistency.
- Advice and provide immediate solutions.
- Correct quality and service shortcomings “on-the-spot”.
- Prepare an appropriate checklist to ensure all details on the job are inspected.
- Document and report all quality concerns to the management on a weekly basis.
- Discuss, advise and suggest improvements based on field inspections with management.
Other Responsibilities
- Preparation of weekly reports and data collection pertaining to production.
- Customer relationship management.
- Payment collection.
- Customer complaints and production issues.
- All other requirements with regards to production, vehicles and shop facilities management as seen fit by management.
NOTE:
- This is a salaried position with performance based bonuses.
- This position requires the individual to be “hands-on” and in the field.
- This position is NOT an in-office only position.
- This position requires any emergency call backs/repairs to be resolved by the Production Manager in an “on call” manner.
Qualifications:
- Driver's License (Required).
- Residential construction experience (Required).
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
