POSITION SUMMARY
The CABINET MAKER will be involved in crafting furniture, composite panels, and wood parts using hand tools and power tools, as well as making repairs and applying, veneer, and finishes to aircraft monuments.
In this role, you will:
· Disassemble and reassemble aircraft cabinetry;
· Prepare and apply inlays;
· Prepare and apply veneers (match wood grain and color);
· Prepare and apply laminated plastics;
· Prepare and apply solid surfaces, including moldings;
· Set up and operate various woodworking machines to cut, shape and form parts.
· Read blueprints and apply them accordingly;
· Repair damaged cabinetry accordingly;
· Strip laminate or veneer coverings from existing cabinets;
· Design and make templates, jigs, and fixtures.
Requirements:
· Minimum 3 years of experience as an Aviation Cabinet Maker or in Aerospace Manufacturing;
· A high school diploma is required;
· Diploma in woodworking or equivalent, an asset;
· Knowledge of aircraft regulation concerning interior design (AS9100), an asset;
· Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools, and instruments;
· Very detail oriented and accurate.
