Valid Wisconsin DPI License 883 Special Ed Program Aide or Valid Wisconsin Teaching License, or obtain immediately upon hire.
The School District of Mauston seeks applicants with the willingness and desire to work with students with intellectual, learning and/or behavioral disabilities in a classroom setting. Must be physically able to adjust to the specific educational, behavioral, and physical needs of the student.
Must be able to:
- Lift
- Carry
- Push/pull
- Attend to tube feeding
- Toileting /change diapers
- Attend to other possible health needs
- Work with students that have emotional, physical, behavioral, and learning disabilities
- Work as a team
- Follow directions from teacher/supervisor
This position can require you to sit 20% of the time, stand 40% of the time, and walk (potential need to run) 40% of the time.
Qualifications:
Ability to effectively communicate and build positive working relationships with students, staff, and parents a must. Also should possess the ability to lift 20 pounds, crawl on the floor, and interact positively with students outside and in the community. All applicants must be “Highly Qualified”, which requires a 2-year degree, 48 hours of college coursework or an ACT WorkKeys certification.
