A Chassis Prep Installer is responsible for preparing vehicle chassis for assembly by installing components and ensuring each chassis meets quality and production standards. This role requires the use of hand and power tools, the ability to read work instructions and blueprints, and a commitment to safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle chassis for assembly according to engineering drawings and production specifications.
- Install chassis components, including brackets, suspension parts, fuel systems, air lines, wiring harnesses, and hydraulic components.
- Measure, align, and secure parts using hand and power tools.
- Inspect components for defects and verify proper fit and function.
- Perform quality checks to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Report equipment issues, damaged materials, or production concerns to supervisors.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and quality control requirements.
- Assist with other production or assembly tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, automotive, or heavy equipment production is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and assembly instructions.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand, bend, kneel, and work in physically demanding conditions throughout the shift.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial vehicle, trailer, RV, or truck chassis assembly.
