Our Children’s Center Montessori is seeking two qualified individuals with a love for children to work as Assistant Teachers in our Toddler Level (15 months to 3 years old) and Primary (preschool) Level (2.75 to kindergarten/6 years) communities beginning in mid to late summer. Job openings are also available for a Support Teacher (school-wide float), and Building Support (kitchen, cleaning).
Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with young children. Applicants with advanced certifications and experience preferred. An understanding of, respect for, and love of young children is essential to working successfully in this child-centered environment. Please submit a resume with cover letter for consideration.
Monday through Friday, 7:45am to 4:45pm, 8:00am to 5:00pm, or 8:15am to 5:15pm or 7:45 to 4:45 (slight schedule negotiations available)
Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00/hour based on education and training (Montessori teachers starting at $20+)

Education: Associates or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. Montessori Certification a plus.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assists teacher in the planning and implementing Montessori curriculum
- Prepares and maintains classroom environment
- Ensures that the individual needs of all children are met
- Participates in parent education and community building events

Our Children’s Center Montessori School is conveniently located in State College, Pennsylvania, just minutes from the Pennsylvania State University. Our facility is situated within the Education Building of the University Baptist & Brethren Church in the borough of State College. Our Children’s Center (OCC) is a private, non-profit corporation governed by a board of directors composed of parent volunteers and community members. OCC is licensed by both the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. OCC welcomes families from diverse religious, cultural, and economic backgrounds. OCC offers early childhood programs for children from 6 months through six years based on the Montessori Philosophy and Method of teaching young children, which encourages individual, whole-child development and fosters a life-long love for learning.
