Job Summary:
As a server at a diner, you will be the primary point of contact for guests, ensuring they receive prompt, friendly, and accurate service. You’ll take orders, serve food and beverages, manage guest needs, and create a welcoming and efficient dining experience in a casual, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables
- Present menus and explain daily specials or diner-specific items
- Take customer orders accurately and enter them into the POS system
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally
- Check on guests regularly and anticipate their needs
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with patience and professionalism
- Process payments, issue receipts, and balance cash or card transactions
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, chairs, and dining area throughout shift
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and fellow servers
- Follow food safety, health, and hygiene standards
- Assist in opening/closing duties as required
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred, but not required
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods; occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
