The Smokehouse of the Catskills is looking for dedicated, hard-working, self-starters who are mechanically inclined and will be responsible for preparing meats and other food items alongside other cooking staff as well as for maintaining a clean and sanitized kitchen area.
Job Duties:
- Assist kitchen personnel in preparing and cooking food items, such as sausage stuffing and butchering
- Operate all food production equipment safely, such as slicers, mixers, smokers, and meat grinders
- Performs a variety of cleaning tasks which may include dishwashing, general sanitation, cleaning of kitchen equipment, sweeping and mopping of floors
- Follow all food safety standards and guidelines
- Follow recipes and instructions to ensure high-quality standards

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask
- Must be able to stand and move throughout assigned shift
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must be comfortable, and/or have knowledge of, using various kitchen tools/equipment
Education & Experience:
- A High School diploma or GED
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, however training will be provided
This is a full-time position (with benefits) with a salary range of $18-24 per hour, depending on experience.
