American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 3 years of ICU experience with 1 year in CVICU and a WI or compact RN license.

30-bed CVICU within a Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Magnet-designated, Comprehensive Stroke Center facility
-
Patient population includes post-op cardiac cases (CABG, TAVR/TMVR, valve repairs, heart transplants, pacemakers), thoracic surgeries (esophagectomy, pneumonectomy, lobectomy), and vascular cases (AAA repair, TVAR, carotid endarterectomy)
-
RN patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2 for regular ICU status, or 1:3 for mixed status; tech ratio of 1:8-10

12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a, with 36 or 48-hour contracts available

Every other weekend rotation required
-
1-2 holidays per contract required
-
No on-call requirements

Floating required to ED Holding, other ICUs (MRICU, SICU, CICU, Neuro ICU), MSU (1:3 ratio), sitter duties, and PACU surge
-
6-week schedule cycle with schedule provided 1-2 weeks in advance

EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and GE monitors used on the unit

Active WI or compact RN license required
-
BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred
-
Minimum 3 years of ICU experience with at least 1 year of CVICU experience required
-
Competency in invasive line monitoring (Swan Ganz, a-lines), pacemakers (epicardial, transvenous), chest tubes, cardiac medications (inotropes, vasopressors, sedation/paralytics), ventilator/trach management, and cardiac rhythm interpretation required

EPIC EMR experience required

CV surgical experience (ECMO, CVVH, IABP, VAD) preferred

Candidate's middle name or initial, DOB, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration

Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required

Provide direct bedside care to critically ill cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients
-
Support team includes charge nurse, 24/7 HUC, dedicated CVICU Intensivist, on-call CT Surgeon, onsite Hospitalist, General Intensivist, and ICU-designated RT
-
Bedside and nurses station telemetry monitoring used, with no dedicated tele tech
-
Phlebotomy team assists with peripheral blood draws; RNs draw from invasive lines only
-
One day of orientation including 2-4 hours of NEO with a supervisor or nurse educator, followed by preceptor-supported unit orientation

Facility adheres to a fatigue policy limiting staff to no more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts

Scrubs must be any solid, professional color with no graphics, logos, or designs

Free parking available, including shuttle service for day shift and an attached parking structure for night shift

Up to 7 days of requested time off can be approved per contract
