Travel Family Nurse Practitioner
Available for travelers and locals
Location: IHS Facility Pinon, AZ (Chinle Service Unit, including outreach sites)
Pay Rate: $72 per hour plus $1,533 weekly stipends (If applicable)
Schedule: Monday Friday | 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Occasional extended hours based on patient care needs
Contract Length: 1 year with the option to extend
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to provide comprehensive primary and acute care services within the Indian Health Service (IHS). This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver holistic, patient-centered care across outpatient, walk-in acute care, teen clinics, and community health settings.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Active, unrestricted FNP license and RN license (any U.S. state or territory)
- Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
- DEA license (Schedules II V) required
- Required Certifications: BLS, PALS
- Preferred: ACLS, ATLS
- Liability Insurance Certification
- Valid driver's license (required due to remote setting and outreach services
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive primary and acute care to patients across the lifespan
Perform histories, physical exams, and develop differential diagnoses and treatment plans
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions (e.g., infections, diabetes, hypertension, respiratory illnesses)
Deliver care in outpatient clinics, walk-in acute care, teen clinics, and community outreach settings
Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with DEA regulations
Respond to urgent and emergent cases, including stabilization and transfer when needed
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
Educate patients and families on prevention, health maintenance, and disease management
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and daily team huddles
Support health equity and culturally sensitive care delivery
